Our first full day in Venice Italy.

We walked around Venice taking in the sights and the sound.

{If you look, you can see that my camera is black. I point this out because I took tons and tons of photos and clips. I lost them all later on in the trip when I lost my camera. The photos I am able to post are from my phone. It still upsets me to this day, lesson learned, take time each night to download your photos every night,Back to the trip.}

The "I Musici Veneziani" was a mixture of highlights from popular opera's. omg, we loved the performances. I highly recommend seeing this if its still being preformed.

A lot of people try to get photos of the Rialto Bridge during the day. My advice go later at night perfect for not having tons of people block the view.

Did you know:

  • The Rialto bridge is the oldest bridge crossing the Grand Canal, there are four bridges.

  • The Rialto bridge is 29 feet wide, 24 feet high, and 104.3 ft long.

  • The first bridge across the Grand Canal at this same spot was a wooden bridge, built in the 12th century.

  • It took three years to construct the Rialto bridge due to unstable conditions, due to the depth of the canal at this spot.

  • Was completed in 1591.

  • The bridge is still renowned as an architectural and engineering achievement of the Renaissance.

The islands of Murano and Burano

The first island, Murano is for glass blowing. Murano glass is amazing, but I might be partial seeing how I have family ties there, going back

six generations.

Burana is famous for its lace. They make breath taking beautiful lace by hand. I love going to Burano out of the two islands. I had video of how they make lace by hand. But it is on my camera that is lost but I'm sure ill be back again.

I have been on Gondola Rides before with the husband in Venice and also Las Vegas with friends. This one was amazing, a life time experience. First time with my Mom and Dad. This one was special, the Gondola picked us up at the hotel, we had champagne, with toasted bread with mozzarella tomato mint and olive oil. On top of that was had accordion player with a singer. Now that the stage has been set hope you like the photos and the video's.

Sep 24 - 27 2018

We leave Venice for a road trip to go see family in Frabosa Soprana, Italy. On the way there we pass through Borgogna.

Home is where your heart is but, your roots ground you like the north star guides you when you are lost. Knowing your past you can forge your own future.

On the 27th my parents and I leave Italy for the France. My Husband heads back to the States.

Next Post for France part of trip coming later.
